Conscious Eating: My Fave Spiritual Practice
Mastering my food helped me master my mind and my life. Not that I have it all figured out …life is a process but I can’t tell you what an impact this had in EVERY area of my life.
More energy and creativity. Less triggered. Symptoms and diseases are disappearing. Higher vibe. More brain power. No caffeine or alarm clock needed. More clarity. More Confidence.
What I didn’t realize then was that conscious eating would become one of the most powerful spiritual practices of my life.
It was HARD.
One of the hardest and most rewarding things I have ever done.
Food is one of the most simple (but not always easy) acts of self-love.
Food can raise your vibration and provide you the energy required to live your most FUN life.
It has also allowed me not only to survive with my genetic condition and various health challenges, but to THRIVE.
We tend to think of food as fuel—something that gives us energy and sustains us.
But somewhere along the way, we normalized eating foods that do the opposite—foods that drain us rather than nourish us.
Food can be the best medicine, or it can be the most socially accepted addiction.
I’ve lived on both sides of that truth.
There was a time when I didn’t believe food could heal me.
I didn’t understand that the things I was consuming were slowly pulling me under.
For years, I was bedridden, exhausted, or fighting health challenges that left me feeling powerless.
I have eaten only clean, healing, and natural foods for five years now.
Let me be clear about something: food addictions are REAL.
They are not your fault.
Practice so much self-compassion.
Brilliant food scientists spend their careers finding the exact combinations of unhelpful ingredients that make you “feel good” just long enough to keep you buying more.
You can optimize food behaviors and free yourself from the food trap.
I’m living proof.
Today, I’m nearly 50, and I’m healthier, stronger, and more vibrant than I’ve ever been.
A huge part of that transformation comes down to my relationship with food.
Why Conscious Eating Is More Than Food
When I talk about conscious eating, I’m not just talking about what’s on your plate.
It’s about how you relate to your food.
How you prepare it.
How it was grown.
How you consume it.
And most importantly, how it impacts your energy and well-being.
For me, conscious eating means I don’t put anything in my body that doesn’t nourish me.
This is not restriction.
It’s an act of love.
I thrive on mostly organic fruits and vegetables.
I make all my food from scratch.
I eat slowly, with full awareness and gratitude.
I rarely eat out, and when I do, it’s intentional—not convenience-based.
I don’t eat anything with preservatives.
I bless my food before every meal.
I thank all the amazing souls who participated in bringing that food to me.
And I genuinely enjoy the entire process—from preparation to the final bite.
This didn’t happen overnight.
It took years of micro-habit stacking and self-awareness.
Years of experimentation.
Years of failure.
Years of small, conscious changes.
There were times I felt like I didn’t have a choice.
I had been so sick and overwhelmed by my own body that I knew if I didn’t make a radical shift, I wasn’t going to survive.
At first, fear motivated me.
But over time, fear transformed into something much more powerful.
Love.
I take care of my body, and my body takes care of me.
I learned that food can be sacred.
It can be spiritual.
It can connect you to your body, your energy, and your purpose.
So how can you start?
If you’re at the beginning of your journey, don’t overwhelm yourself by trying to change everything at once.
Instead, ask this simple question every time you eat:
Is this food going to give me energy—or is it going to drain me?
Not just energy in the moment, but energy to live your most magnetic, vibrant life.
Is this food something you’d feel good about serving your child?
Or are we unconsciously passing down habits that are normal—but not optimal?
We live in a society that has normalized disconnection—from our bodies, our food, and our planet.
So much of what we consume is loaded with chemicals, preservatives, and toxins.
It’s not just about what we’re feeding our bodies.
It’s about what we’re feeding our homes, our children, and our future.
Conscious eating is a step toward reclaiming that connection.
This isn’t about perfection.
It’s about intention.
It’s about choosing food that nourishes you, uplifts you, and gives you the energy to live the life you deserve.
Yes, it’s work.
Yes, it takes time.
But the rewards are worth it.
Because when you change how you eat, you don’t just change your health.
You change your entire way of being.
And for me, that’s where the real power of conscious eating lives.
It’s not just about food.
It’s about self-love.
Self-awareness.
And ultimately, self-mastery.
Food is energy.
And when we learn to eat consciously, we’re learning to love.
I help people optimize their health, energy, wealth, and relationships from a holistic, multidimensional perspective.
If you’re navigating connection, alignment, or growth in your own life and want support, I’m here.
Together we heal.
Together we grow.
Together we evolve.
Love and gratitude,
Sandy
